New book on WWII CO's work in mental wards

RantWoman hereby digresses from transit and her family melodrama to some real social reformers from a bygone era:

This article and the book it references are about the role of conscientious objectors doing alternative service in exposing many horrors at some of the institutions where they worked.

The story is one of those things that gives RantWoman courage in the face of all her grumbles.
