RantWoman wants her readers to know they have ONE more day, Tuesday December 14, to purchase an annual disabled pass from Metro for $99. After that, the only option is $27 / month which RantWoman has written about earlier.
RantWoman realizes if she cares about Metro in the age of starving the government and free cookies fantasies, she COULD perfectly well buckle down and accept the price increase. RantWoman, alas, is like every other red-blooded, tax fearing denizen of our republic: RantWoman also jumped on the cheap option!
RantWoman thinks tidings about this HUGE BARGAIN should be findable on the web, but RantWoman has not found them. RantWoman THINKS it should be possible to beat the lines and do this transaction by phone. Did RantWoman attempt this?
Why, no! RantWoman finished up a medical errand, did her favorit hop from the UW Medical Center to the westbound Mountlake flyer stop, and headed down in person to the Metro offices.. RantWoman braved wind and rain and gloom of December and showed up in person.
For RantWoman's trouble, RantWoman got to chat with customer service staff. She also got to hang with the rain-soaked masses yearning to ride cheap. RantWoman has not been hanging out at the Metro Customer Service Office much since she finally figured out her Autoload at www.orcacard.com . In RantWoman's absence, one amenity has been added: folding chairs. Instead of standing around trying not to lean on the stansion and ribbon barriers delimiting the waiting line, the rain-soaked masses now get to SIT DOWN. Lucky masses.
Lucky RantWoman, she guesses, too. The new folding chairs also reduce the odds that RantWoman and Responsible Blind Professional will get to have any more conversations about a blind person managing to upend the entire line. RantWoman guesses she will have to cope with this loss.
RantWoman in a spirit of fairness will at some point spell out what she understands of the various rationales for, basically, a six-fold increase in the costs of the monthly disabled pass over about the last 3 years. RantWoman finds herself in some sympathy. Some, but not very much and RantWoman will probably also have to mix in another rant or two. In other words, situation normal. Now STOP reading blogs and get down to get your bargain bus pass for 2011.
