Blind Cafe JUne 8 and 9

RantWoman has promised the world a post on the internet capable refrigerator. Can you imagine?

In the meantime, RantWoman invites her readers, especially those who might be inclined toward blindness tourism with a tour guide less prone than RantWoman to snarling at customers, to check out the Blind Cafe:

The Blind Cafe is making its first ever visit to Seattle on June 8 and 9, according to Seattle Met. The dine-in-dark restaurant, which provides employment to visually-impaired people and educates the public on blindness, has been traveling around the country since 2009. The restaurant will be set up at the Fremont Baptist Church at 717 N. 36th St. Tickets are on a sliding scale from $55 to $95, depending on what you can afford and will get you a meal full of different flavors and textures, plus a Q&A on blindness. You canpurchase your tickets at http://www.theblindcafe.com/seattle-blind-cafe.htm but hurry -- these events sell out quickly.

RantWoman notes:

--RantWoman would be happier knowing upfront which organizations will benefit from the proceeds.

--RantWoman remembers another event called Dining in the Dark. RantWoman thinks there are dueling brands of blindness tourism but RantWoman appreciated the videos on the Seattle site above for numerous different people exclaiming over different individual experiences, all of which are part of RantWoman's daily life. Annoying self-pitying meltdown on: Those of you who can hardly handle even one are invited to gaze in awe or terror or... at those of us who deal with all of them. Okay, set meltdown off!
