RantWoman HIGHLY recommends this posting for all kinds of disaster preparedness hints aimed at people with special needs.

Among RantWoman's favorit tips:

--This post is written by someone in CA; check with local agencies for local equivalents!

--Make sure your service dog / Service elephant / (service python / service ostrich / service gecko--RantWoman) knows the difference between you falling and ducking for cover. Be sure you also make whatever provisions you can forthe equivalent of Drop Cover and hold for your service animal.

--If you take medications that need temperature control such as insulin, include an insulated bad in your to-go kit and grab say a blue ice pack with your medications as you go out the door.

And if you are RantWoman save a few extra moments to excoriate your internet service provider for being absolute jerks about a billing issue that cut off service in the middle of RantWoman's first effort to post this.!
