And how has RantWoman spent Global Accessibility Awareness Day +/- #gaad ?
http://globalaccessibilityawarenessday.org/gaad.html
RantWoman has spent the last couple days intermittently doing ad-hoc accessibility testing on .... http://startsomegood.com !
Results are SO BAD that RantWoman cannot even figure out whether there is a link to report problems. Hence the blog post.
RantWoman has tried startsomegood.com with
JAWS 14
plus Internet Explorer 10
OR Firefox, whatever the version is at the Friendly Neighborhood center for Extreme Computing.
Android 4.4 with Talkback on RantWoman's smartphone. RantWoman is not entirely confident of many issues on her Smaartphone, but this site froze with nary even a touch screen buzz.
RantWoman has also sent the site off to More Adept JAWS User who encountered the same problems RantWoman has using JAWS and Internet Explorer.
To wit: the site seems to hang. JAWS will seem to read the page from the top but it will not find any links or headings or form fields, the sort of things one needs to have choices about actually using what is on the site.
With Firefox RantWoman was able to walk through the create account step, but the response time was excruciatingly slow.
RantWoman opted not to whip out her NVDA or her Window Eyes demo. If the site does not pass really basic accessibility tests with the tools RantWoman uses all the time, unless RantWoman is getting paid to test, why mess around doing things that get in the way of what RantWoman is trying to do!
Help!
