Scrimshaw Artist Jim Stephens comes to MBNCA

Gallery featuring blind artists opens in Seattle with work by Jim Stevens
Hello from the new Mount Baker Neighborhood Center for the Arts and Casa de Esperanza Gallery, opening soon in the Mount Baker ArtSpace Lofts!
MBNCA and Casa de Esperanza, a unique art gallery focusing on artists with disabilities, share a gallery space at *2919 Rainier Avenue South, Seattle, WA 98144,* next to the Mount Baker Lightrail Station.

Our opening activities in August include bringing internationally renowned, visually impaired scrimshaw artist Jim Stevens to Seattle for *several events and a hands-on workshop.* Don't miss this opportunity to meet and learn from a master craftsman.
Scrimshaw is a style of art generally described as the engraving or carving of ivory or bone. Jim Stevens practices traditional scrimshaw as well as contemporary interpretations on lucite and monofilament.
