RantWoman is thinking of going rogue and trying to fix the inner bungee cords on two of RantWoman's white canes. In the meantime, RantWoman just lost patience and decided she has resources to buy yet another 60" WCIB just like the two she has EXCEPT that the old ones both need new inner bungee cords and the brand new one needs some soap on the joints but, knock on wood, has a perfectly fine Inner Bungee cord.
Ordinarily, RantWoman would ship her canes off to
White Cane Instrument Co. Product Repair
RantWoman would need to include a check for $9.50 per cane needing repair, include a clear return address, with the check. RantWoman has the option of packaging everything up and marking it Free Matter for the Blind. RantWoman can also pay more for shipping, but the canes will come back Free Matter for the Blind (use the search engine of your choice to find your preferred summary of the rules.)
This all takes time, the packaging, the mailing, the waiting. Did RantWoman mention that she gets impatient?
Today RantWoman is considering experimenting with her own repairs. A quick search on Bungee Cord yielded HookAndCord.com along with all kinds of reflections about the physicality of the stretching, hooking... RantWoman in fact is so intrigued she is wondering whether she can find any bungee cord options locally. Stay tuned.
