RantWoman particularly directs readers to the link with information in 10 languages.

RantWoman also notes that the Youtube videos are text on a screen without audio. RantWoman did not check for a transcript posted with the video. Sigh.

Nevertheless  RantWoman heartily commends this information to her readers.

Community Communication Network Health Advisory: Wildfire Smoke in King County

*For Distribution*
Wildfire Smoke Health Alert   Wildfires are burning in eastern Washington and in neighboring states and British Columbia. This will likely bring wildfire smoke into western Washington in the days to come. Smoke from wildfires especially increases health risks for sensitive groups: babies, children, people over 65, pregnant women, and those with health conditions, such as heart and lung diseases or diabetes.

Breathing smoky air can cause a wide range of symptoms from watery eyes and coughing to chest pain and asthma attacks. People with heart or lung diseases such as asthma are more likely to experience serious and life-threatening symptoms.

Check Puget Sound Clean Air Agency’s website for updates on air quality. Air quality can change quickly, depending on the wind.

If the air is listed as unhealthy, take the following steps:
·         Stay indoors and avoid strenuous physical activities outside.
·         Keep indoor air clean. Use an air cleaner with a HEPA filter.
·         Close windows and doors as much as possible. Use fans or an air conditioner (AC) when it is hot, and set your AC to recirculate. If you do not have AC and it is too hot to stay home, go to a place with AC such as a mall or library.
·         Drink plenty of water.
