Merry Hanukkah Kwanzaa Christmas still lingering seasonal joy of whatever flavor

Today's post starts with a standard Friday afternoon tactile graphics exercise. RantWoman did not really go looking for good Kwanzaa imagery but did decide to mess around with some menorahs. Tune in below for a thematic rant about a tweet from Mayor Pete.

GOOD GRIEF there are a lot of 6-candle menorah images out there. RantWoman likes this one for clear lines and for the flames.  This one is shown in its original black and white form and also as a line drawing. The original form reproduced as a tactile image but not as solid as RantWoman expected. RantWoman likes the clear feel of the line drawing better.

RantWoman thanks the person at the Friendly Neighborhood Center for Extreme Computing   for pointing out the candle count problem.

These drawings have no label in either braille or text because RantWoman inadvertantly moved the default braille label and could not put it back. RantWoman was procrastinating about something else and decided not to fiddle longer.

NO, the braille does not match the letters
Also, No the letters cannot really be read by touch

Yes, even though it is the holidays, RantWoman must still rant.

Religious tweets from presidential candidates are fair game whereever RantWoman writes.

RantWoman meant to find Mayor Pete's Christmas tweet but that has not occurred. If it does, RantWoman will update.

RantWoman found herself wanting to express wishes that the joy of the season touch everyone. Mayor Pete's did not quite get there.

RantWoman's other point: Jesus's parents were travelling because of the census. Jesus did not become a refugee until King Herod unleashed genocide against all the first-born children. RantWoman can think of plenty of ways to work with metaphors from the real story!

There. Enough rant for now. Happy Fifth Night of Hanukkah, first day of Kwanzaa, who is counting about christmas and which calendar?
