Brandi Kruse headline: Notorious Seattle Socialist announces her bid for Congress
RantWoman has until now avoided significant interaction with the media offerings from local journalist Brandi Kruse. RantWoman has decided to add a bit of Ms. Kruse's perspectives if only to see whether there will be any insights forthcoming about former Seattle City Councilmember Kshama Sawant's Congressional campaign against 9th district Congressman Adam Smith.
Full disclosure: RantWoman's apartment was located in CM Sawant's district until redistricting. Kshama's campaign is the only one to RantWoman's knowledge, to send canvassers to the building where RantWoman lives. That is a tricky point because RantWoman has not inquired about the appropriateness of admitting people from political campaigns to her building. As a result of a very brief career as a canvasser a long time ago, RantWoman is predisposed to respect canvassers even when they bring flyers with acres of tine print and no clearly marked phone number and website.
That said, RantWoman can think of a number of issues where a Congressional campaign could be a very important venue for questions about topics that need serious attention. Based on Sawant's track record about strong rhetoric and provocative public actions, RantWoman is not confident that Sawant's candidacy will evoke the kind of discussion RantWoman would like to have.
RantWoman has further things to say, but these comments are sufficient for now.
