Here is a Joint Dear Colleague Letter from the Departmetn of Justice and the Department of Education Office of Civile Rights about electronic book readers such as the Kindle DX.
RantWoman would say the language is pretty categorical. Unfortunately RantWoman has a time or two observed that, for any number of reasons categorical language still might not necesasarily lead to full accessibility. But here's hoping lots of educational institutions--including RantWoman's Alma Mater get the message.
Lexicographic digression for alert readers who noticed that RantWoman a couple posts ago used OCR in a way which context suggests means something quite different from this post.
OCR, this post: Office of Civil Rights, of which there is one in every federal department with the granddaddy of them all being the Department of Justice Office of Civil Rights.
OCR, a couple posts ago: Optical Character Recognition.
