RantWoman has lived for a long time in Colorado. RantWoman lived further into the mountains than Boulder so MAYBE Boulder has more temperate climate. In any case, aside from climate issues in November, RantWoman is posting this partly in an effort to organize herself to find a way to attend, preferably as a presenter.
Accessing Higher Ground conference in Colorado November 2011.
About AHG
http://www.colorado.edu/ATconference/about2011.html
Accessing Higher Ground focuses on the implementation and benefits of
Accessible Media, Universal Design and Assistive Technology in the
university, business and public setting. Other topic areas cover legal and
policy issues, including ADA and 508 compliance. The creation of accessible
media and information resources, including Web pages and library resources
are a particular focus of the event.
For institutions of Higher Education, there is a strong focus on campus
accommodation. For businesses and other audiences, there are numerous
sessions on best practices for web design, reaching untapped audiences
through accessible design, and compliance with new Department of Justice
rules regarding Section 508 and the ADA.
Who Should Attend
This conference is intended for individuals who need to design or provide
accessible Web, media, information resources and technology in the academic
and business environment. In the past, audiences have included Web
designers, assistive technologists, ADA coordinators, human resource
personnel, persons with disabilities, disability specialists, faculty, media
specialists and programmers interested in accessibility.
