On Thursday, September 13 at 11 a.m., Washington State Poet Laureate Kathleen Flenniken will read and discuss her poetry at the Washington Talking Book & Braille Library (WTBBL) in Seattle!
Refreshments will be served and a special program is planned!
The Washington State Poet Laureate serves to build awareness and appreciation of poetry - including the state's legacy of poetry - through public readings, workshops, lectures and presentations in communities, schools, colleges, universities and other public settings in geographically diverse areas of the state. The appointed Poet Laureate serves a two-year term, and Kathleen is the Poet Laureate for 2012-2014.
WTBBL is located at 2021 9th Avenue (at Lenora) in Seattle, with limited free parking available! To RSVP or for more information, please contact David at 206-615-0417 or david.junius@sos.wa.gov .
As an aside, RantWoman considers it very cool that the draw is poetry and a another program besides the Talking Book and Braille library run by th WA Secretary of State, not just more blindness stuff! Yet another reason RantWoman thanks the huge pool of WTTBL supporters around Seattle for rallying a few years ago to keep WTTBL in Seattle!
