Service DOGS (and miniature horses)

RantWoman invites all her readers to view this news item about service dogs.

RantWoman thinks the news item does a good job about:

--a service dog is trained to perform at least one command.

--dogs and miniature horses are the only service animals recognized under federal law. (The news item does not say very clearly that a few local jurisdictions recognize lizards, snakes, chickens as service animals.)

--emotional support animals are another category entirely. The main point which the news story omitted: a person with a documented need, signed by a healthcare provider, for an emotional support dog cannot be denied housing and the emotional support animal has to be accommodated.

Here, another service dog story from broward County Fl
