Just in time for back-to-school season, register to participate in a webinar on Wednesday, August 7 from 11:00 am - 12:30pm PT. You will learn how to help residents get low-cost internet and computers at home through an exciting new partnership between HUD and non-profit Connect 2 Compete http://www.connect2compete.org/ (C2C). You will hear from other housing managers/colleagues who have created successful broadband/internet adoption programs, helping residents gain the skills to assist their children with schoolwork, find a job, save money, and connect with family and friends. You'll hear practical advice about setting up broadband adoption programs based on the National Telecommunications & Information Administration (NTIA) newly-published Broadband Adoption Toolkit. Finally, HUD officials will share information about how to use funding to promote these opportunities in your communities.

Zach Levering, Executive Director of C2C, will describe the Everyone On www.everyoneon.org  awareness campaign, which is connecting low-income families and individuals with affordable high-speed Internet, computers, education and training. Zach will also share updates and answer questions about the C2C partnership program, which provides a streamlined way for organizations to help their community members access reasonably-priced computers and high-speed Internet for as low as $9.99 a month.
