National Night Out event with ASL interpretation and faith-based notes

RantWoman received the following announcement:

The City of Seattle will host a Night Out for Disaster Preparedness Event on Tuesday, August 5th from 6-9PM at Lakeridge Playground 10145 Rainier Avenue S. Seattle, WA 98178 (Corner of Rainier & Cornell).

As part of our goal of building community resiliency through partnerships with local entities such as non-profits and faith-based organizations, we are partnering with Bible Study Outreach Ministries to host this event.

This event is FREE and open to the public.  Festivities will include free food, music, short disaster preparedness trainings along with disaster supplies, family friendly activities, raffles AND FUN!

ASL interpreters will be on site.

RantWoman wishes to emphasize the following points:
--RantWoman HOPES there might be other Night Out events in other parts of the city where ASL interpretation will be provided but has not gone to look.

--RantWoman knows plenty of deaf people who like to be able to go someplace spontaneously without remembering to call in advance for an interpreter and is glad to help publicize this option for just such people.

--RantWoman thanks Bible Study Outreach MInistries for their role in this event.

--RantWoman looked at the map of Night out events and notices the ones registered are generally sparse east of I5.

--RantWoman notes the distinction about events that have registered because she was just last night in a very animated conversation with someone from the Chobojui Zen Center on Beacon Hill who is also hosting a Night Out event.

--RantWoman's faith community will, if RantWoman has anything to do with it, have some kind of disaster preparedness event later in the fall.
