Self defense options.

The Friendly Neighborhood center had a security incident recently. By security incident RantWoman means a frightening and probably frightened old guy who assaulted two people, need to call the police, and lots of conversations about cheerful topics such workplace safety, security cameras, pepper spray...

Also of interest: self-defense for people with disabilities.

Alas, RantWoman asked one of her go-to humans. Go-to-human wrote back something like "Gee, that would be interesting to know." So RantWoman turned to her search engine. RantWoman is going to delegate the next phases of content screening to interested minions, but some search strings which seem productive include

and if the results of the searches suggested above are unsatisfactory, RantWoman recommends this item. RantWoman is VERY glad to have no specific need to talk about active shooters, but RantWoman also finds the option of overpowering a shooter with office supplies oddly inspiring, not to mention considerably more empowering than "The only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun."
