Color Contrast: Beyond the Basics

Oh Look Santa brought us a cool resource about color contrast and the WCAG 2.0 guidelines. (Yes, RantWoman is enough of a nerd to wax eloquent about the internet pointing this in her direction without particularly explicitly being asked.)

Two Santa Pillows from childhood

RantWoman from time to time gets asked her opinion about something to do with accessibility. This item about WCAG 2.0 guidelines about color contrast is an example of many tradeoffs and also of why RantWoman cannot necessarily opine concisely. Enjoy and thank you to all the devs (developers)  who work with these guidelines and have to choose among not straightforward options.

Thank you also to readers who do not care about WCAG 2.0 minutia and who just want their content delivered in their preferred format and without having to remember a bunch of acronyms, thank you very much.

In case you missed it, @starla175 covers the official guidance on color
contrast from WCAG, then goes over and beyond to cover aspects that truly
consider the usability of situations where color contrast is important.
