The plan was for RantWoman to do the usual Sunday supper at RantMom's, do a certain amount of stevedoring to locate the Christmas tree and the favorite containers of ornaments, set up the boxes used for a tree stand and the usual festive covering, and help RantMom decorate her Christmas tree.
RantMom even has a new Christmas tree. RantMom got it last year on end of season discount. RantMom thought it came with lights on it. Disappointingly, when RantMom opened the box it was all bare tree, and the kind of bare tree that needed serious help getting into shape. HOPEFULLY it will fluff out a little overnight.

RantWoman also unpacked the Santa Clauses and a door decoration.
Digital Device moment of the evening: after RantWoman was taking pictures to memorialize the evening, RantMom also wanted to know how to use her Smartphone camera. RantMom found her camera app and even opened it. Unfortunately it opened in selfie mode and RantMom just wanted to photograph the Christmas tree in progress.
RantWoman could show RantMom the turn the camera around on her own phone but could not help RantMom find what was needed. Delegate further technical assistance to Little Sister next time she and RantMom are together. Also RantMom loves her stylus. RantWoman should just turn on the accessibility gesture on RantMom's phone so that when RantMom needs help, RantWoman can find things faster and then send things back to RantMom normal quickly. (Mental note: the option of making more than one accessibility profile on a single device: doable or NOT? Consider this use case. How many households...?)
