Today's Essential Trip

Look world, RantWoman is not liking how she feels today. And RantWoman is not talking about either the thrill of baking more coconut lentil brownies or about yet another opportunity for a clump of people to learn skills related to technology and effective accessible conduct of conference calls. RantWoman is definitely getting a steady diet of the latter in multiple parts of her life with the same mix of technical issues and demanding requirements.

As far as the feeling less than 100%, RantWoman has slightly worse dry cough, slightly worse streaks in her vision, itchy eyes, some weird small pains in different places in her head, a bunch of places like teeth and a shoulder injury that ache,  but nothing stunningly worse than average. RantWoman did a calendar check and realized that there is something allergic going on, but RantWoman was feeling generally low energy, underslept, and definitely not her full self. So a really good argument could be made that RantWoman should just #StayTheFHome. RantWoman is VERY glad she put on her mask and went out and shopped herself and did not just rely on delivery of the medication she went to the pharmacy to pick up.

First stop after the empty bus to the transit center: the bank. Still looking for more laundry quarters. Still NOT wanting to look for them in the drive-through.Lobby is closed. Try again some other way but not today.

Next stop: the pharmacy. RantWoman on a hunch asked at the entry, do they have any thermometers? YES. Yes, at the front checkout. RantWoman is glad she asked and did not just fog around the store searching on her own. There were two kinds, the one RantWoman bought or one that costs like $70. RantWoman WILL take the one she bought out of the package, but RantWoman is feeling intimidated by the Teeny tine print. Maybe if RantWoman is really organized she will put the brand into a search engine and see whether some directions pop out on a website or something.

Also on the glad to shop oneself list, a couple other personal care products and a large package of RantWoman's favorite hand and bath soap. RantWoman is still washing hands with the several bottles of liquid soap she bought just going into the #Lockdown, and the package of soap bars should last several months.

Next stop the grocery store. Main goals: good peanut butter and lemons. RantWoman of course came home with many other things. RantWoman is especially charmed by two jars of gefilte fish one sale for 1/3 their pre Passover price. RantWoman will be glad for some fish in her diet even though it is pickled! That alone was worth the trip.

On the way out of the store, after a spell of packing her own groceries, RantWoman paused to consider: walk all the way home or walk back to the transit center and get a bus. Get a bus won. On the way to the transit center RantWoman met a panhandler. RantWoman had no change so she decided to offer the panhandler either a jar of gefilte fish or one of the single serving pizzas RantWoman bought. The panhandler went for the frozen pizza.

Merry Friday. With luck RantWoman will strive to shop a different day or earlier in the day on Friday.
