Three Sleeping Bags and an insulated tent.

This post touches several of RantWoman's October binge blog. For instance RantBrother shares the same ophthalmological DNA lotto as RantWoman. As far as RantWoman knows, RantBrother has avoided the midlife meltdown RantWoman experienced, but if so this is because of other weirder freakier medical issues. RantBrother does rather different work than RantWoman but RantWoman is happy to tag this #NDEAM and let readers consider the role of self-employed arborist and outdoor guy.

Thanks to RantMom's patience with two half-blind little kids (Little Sister avoided said DNA lotto) everyone learned to cook. Both RantBrother and Little Sister have done paid work as cooks. RantWoman did her part cooking one night a week at her 20-person co-op while in college, no #NDEAM on that front as well.

RantWoman is not clear whether RantBrother is currently working. Plus it's his birthday and there is plenty else to say.

Anyway, Happy Birthday RantBrother!

--RantWoman is VERY glad to recognize CDC guidelines during pandemic about letting people live in tents, even in COLD places, instead of forcing them into congregate shelters where they cannot social distance.

--RantWoman is also very glad to hear from RantMom after she got a phone call that RantBrother has an insulated tent and 3 sleeping bags. RantBrother fancies himself a bit of a mountain man, and he has clearly accumulated some valuable possessions. RantWoman has no idea whether his path to these acquisitions has involved any kind of app-based or personal dongle based intervention. Maybe.

RantWoman has been sending RantBrother birthday prayers all day to another city. RantWoman really does not care who might think that idea is just too weird and woo-woo. The point is RantBrother CALLED RantMom. For all the advocates of app-based help for the unhoused, please be advised, RantBrother has trouble keeping a cell-phone of his own. RantWoman has no idea what all is up with that. RantWoman very occasionally has phone calls herself with RantBrother but RantWoman is not able to extract details about questions like that.

RantWoman from time to time contacts a social worker in the city where RantBrother stays. The social worker cannot of course tell RantWoman much but RantWoman manages to do enough of a dance with hypothetical questions and her own observations sometimes to exchange useful information. RantWoman thinks it would be COOL if RantBrother had some kind of electronic option not only to attract help locally but to make it easier for family to do what we very occasionally can offer. Word.

And again, Happy Birthday RantBrother.
