Shoes. SOcks. No masks.

RantWoman is SO happy to be able to visit RantMom in her apartment in her retirement community WITHOUT MASKS.

The RantWomen have now done visit #2 in RantMom's apartment. Considering RantMom's journey through COVID positive but asymptomatic to virus free to fully vaccinated, considering all the vexing conscientiousness about public health guidelines RantWoman is not quite ready to abandon wariness. Nevertheless, it was glorious to sit with RantMom, to observe her more relaxed than sometimes. to celebrate some efforts to cut down clutter and just to chat.

And what did the RantWomen chat about?

There is a two-year timeline before some major construction. So there is a move to chat about ahead of that. 

And there was footwear!

RantMom hates, Hates, HATES ordering online. The RantWomen were comparing notes because RantMom ordered the same cheerful compression socks RantWoman was wearing. RantMom tried several times by phone and finally lost it and left a message about why she likes supporting a MT company but that is the last time she is going to try to call. So they called her back within 10 minutes. Go Mom?

And RantWoman has new shoes. RantWoman has struggled about ordering shoes online. RantWoman really does not know any good options other than in person for hitting a sweet spot of length, width, and lumps in the insole. No, the new shoes don't have great arch support so RantWoman will have to look for options. Yes, RantMom would probably find them too narrow so no, sorry she doesn't even get to try on. They are also a smidge too long. So now because RantWoman also has a pair of Doc Martens with too much heel RantWoman now has two pairs of T-strap dressy that she will not try to walk very far in. Sigh. Whine. Moan. But if that is the worst problem of RantWoman's day...  Oh, wait it's NOT.

Next visit, since the dining room isn't open yet for guests, RantWoman may bring takeout Thai or pizza. Stay tuned.

It was COLD waiting for bus coming home. Happy Juneuary starting early.
