BLIND LEADERS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
American
Foundation for the Blind (AFB) is pleased to announce that applications will be
accepted until 11:59 PM PDT, May 15, 2022 for the third cohort of the Blind
Leaders Development Program, which will kick off August 2 through 5, 2022, in
Louisville, Kentucky.
AFB is committed to
unleash 100 new leaders on the world who are blind or have low vision in the first
5 years of the Blind Leaders Development Program. As we endeavor to increase
the number of blind people in positions of leadership, at work as well as in
their community, we need your support to find the right people to be Fellows or
Mentors.
Who should apply?
We are looking for
early to mid-career individuals with vision loss who would like to develop
their leadership skills as Fellows, as well as mid to late-career individuals
who are blind or have low vision with leadership experience to serve as their
Mentors.
What will Fellows and Mentors gain from
the Blind Leaders Development Program?
* Build and sharpen leadership
skills through formal behavior-based leadership training
* Learn practical
techniques to communicate and network with confidence from successful blind
leaders
* Be part of a
supportive community of leaders and emerging leaders that will last a lifetime
* Attend events to
connect with people who are pursuing similar goals
