RantWoman wishes to celebrate a definite overabundance of reasons to pop off opinions. This particular post involves religious pluralism, the meaning of public accommodations, and the realities of small business, as well as a certain #Scotus ruling.
#HappyPride2023 y'all
Listen to Colorado’s Attorney General Phil Weiser complain that the case allowing businesses to discriminate against gay couples was a made-up case with no real victim or any real business. The court should have refused to hear it, he says. pic.twitter.com/F9yMQLoXFM

RantWoman never really considered wanting to be a Supreme Court Justice. For one thing, RantWoman might want to pretend she could handle a lifetime gig with people she might consistently and passionately disagree with, but RantWoman is nowhere near that saintly.
RantWoman does, though, have more than enough nerve to weigh in about an opinion, stand up firmly for religious pluralism, offer someone some blunt business advice, and offer to pray for a certain web designer.
This country is about religious pluralism, not forced conversion! Faith organizations take a variety of positions about same-gender marriage. RantWoman has plenty of people around her trying to be "woke" who are going to be all "what is this praying for thing?" That is part of the web designer's point. Sometimes prayer is a much nicer concept that mutual yelling.
Perhaps the web designer has a relative she will be terrified to learn is gay. Perhaps she is just taking a holy "my gummint isn't gonna tell me what to do" position.
Guess what? Aside from freezing over a problem she presented no evidence even exists, she doesn't need the Supreme Court's permission to run her business as she sees fit. There are all kinds of reasons a small business might not be able to take on any specific client. RantWoman feels no obligation to offer suggestions. RantWoman can find it in her heart to hope that all the brouhaha over the #SCOTUS case will generate plenty of customers. RantWoman also hopes the local market for wedding website designers is competitive enough that customers have a real choice.
RantWoman offers further shout out in the name of religious pluralism to all the Jewish crooners who earn their living partly by composing Christmas carols.
RantWoman, admittedly, is also pondering the word "retirement" and which Justices' names she might happily attach to the word.
And if RantWoman were not busy enough, she is also pondering the WA state antidiscrimination law and a certain faith community and a person who needs the same accommodations, whether at work or volunteering or ....But that is a story for another day and maybe a different blog.
