The Christmas season of RantWoman's youth was full of exuberant performances by musicians of all ages, orchestra fundraising candy and band fundraising boxes of citrus fruit. So in honor of multitudinous seasonal musical performances, RantWoman will be mixing assorted YouTube videos into posts for the next few days.
This post has further peculiar logic. RantDad grew up in WY. RantWoman does not remember ever visiting the righteous Rev. Rant Granddad in WY over Christmas except maybe once when RantWoman would have been too young to remember. RantWoman does remember the righteous Rev. Rant Granddad visiting the Rant family in CO and MT, so he gets to be in RantWoman's melange of holiday memories.
Special asterisk: the Righteous Rant Granddad, a Presbyterian minister, according to RantMom, was not charmed about one topic: in WY in the 1950's, one RantDad form of teenage rebellion was to have a very good friend who was very Catholic! So in the patriotic interest of peace and harmony and religious pluralism today's musical gesture is a Catholic Choir.
Finally through the wonders of free association and email timing, former GOP Congresswoman Liz Cheney is also on RantWoman's mind, and two links after the music pretty much encapsulate a whole bunch of Big Questions in the news and on RantWoman's mind.
Please note: RantWoman disagrees with Ms. Cheney about a whole bunch of issues but does strongly agree about some basic values and does hope that the next year can bring a sense of renewal and reaffirmation as well as commitment to dialogue and openness to evolution in thinking.
