RantMom's memory of RantWoman's first Fourth of July involved watermelon, RantWoman wearing only a diaper, and a garden hose when very young RantWoman was done eating watermelon.
RantWoman's memory, jogged after RantMom told her about the watermelon and the hose was frustration and blurry vision.
Fast forward about a year to RantWoman's first eye surgery, for congenital cataracts. RantMom says the surgery did not seem to make much difference in RantWoman's vision, until...
until new glasses which had to come by mail order arrived on Halloween.
RantMom said getting RantWoman to put them on was a bit of a struggle. RantMom says and RantWoman remembers fights at bedtime to get RantWoman to take off her glasses.
