Sure, RantWoman, how about some nice fantasies about secure online voting?
Ummm, how about RantWoman find some accessible resources to help her poke through the candidates for WA Supreme Court justices, King County auditor and other races where someone is not running unopposed. RantWoman just refuses to vote in races where someone is unopposed. Would life be better if more people were interested in running for municipal court judge? MAYBE but not RantWoman's problem.
Also not RantWoman's problem: voting party with RantMom who is no longer available for such civic engagement. SIGH.
But what DO we have:
USPS Postmarking changes that resulted in 20,000 ballots rejected in the August WA primary. And we are not even going to try to ask about barriers to voting for people who need transportation to accessible voting options or live in counties without a Disability Access Committee.
A bunch of unopened ballots dumped in Ballard. Is some mail carrier just refusing to do their job? Is someone else stealing ballots? Inquiring minds want to know.
Oh, but MAYBE according to the US attorney up to 400 non-citizens who MAY have voted up to 15 times in recent WA elections. For RantWoman's money, TURN THE NAMES OVER TO the WA Secretary of State for verification. Alert the voters whose status has been questioned. Under NO Circumstances is there a federal role beyond turning over data where questions have arisen. WA voters might though find it helpful to know about demographics of people being targeted as a possible non-citizen and in what counties they live.
And by the way, once RantWoman marks her ballot it will be delivered to a location TENDED BY A HUMAN, not just left in a drop box. SIGH.
Branching out from WA
BRAVO to Alaska for trying Rank choice voting! BOO to the current administration for preemptively suing before people have even voted. Making RantWoman's view clear: Vote Peltola in numbers #TooBIgToRig
YIKES! Mary Peltola and her family have been injured in a car crash, as have two other female Congressional candidates from other states. But we MUST put all our eggs into protecting young female athletes from transgender teammates.
In Ohio: President #StableGenius is admiring a Senate candidate's physique. Who cares what he is going to do for the people of OH?
RantWoman also thanks Vivek Ramasmarmy (misspelling deliberate) for going all in continuing to brand the #GOP the party of pedophiles and child abusers. Maybe DO THE RESEARCH to #FactCheck Amy Acton's mother about claims to have worked in child welfare for decades. Siding with a spouse over and abused child should absolutely disqualify anyone from such work. But what does RantWoman know?
And in South Carolina, Sen. Tim Scott has jumped on the #GOP bandwagon and started referring to Democrat Dr. Annie Andrews by an offensive epithet. Thankfully, a bipartisan pair of former governors has endorsed Dr. Annie Andrews over Lindsay Graham's sister Darline Graham Nordone. RantWoman has been following this race out of curiosity. SC womanhood is not just Nikki Haley and Nancy Mace.
RantWoman has been incensed all along by the internet commentariat treating a woman with decades of service in state government like a nobody just because of her family connections. Graham Nordone is respected by people from several states familiar with the realities of vocational rehabilitation. That experience does not necessarily equip her to sit on the same committees that Lindsay did and the campaign has featured one cringe moment after another. #NDEAM
At this point though, RantWoman wants to ask every candidate everywhere "Whoever wins, you are going to be serving with lots of people you disagree with. What will be your strategy to work together and GET SOMETHING DONE?
