Dear Rep Boebert, Miss Me, please, with your concern for my second amendment rights, especially right after a mass shooting

RantWoman has written previously of being afflicted with the need to monitor the career and extraordinary adventures of Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-CO03. The RantFamily lived in this district when RantWoman was a child. RantMom still knows many relatives there. Rep. Boebert is the sort of personage who should immediately get routed to RantWoman's "I pray for you" twitter list. And yet, RantWoman started to write a short note about her own story and realized that Rep. Boebert's district probably has all kinds of rural transportation needs that could be funded the Disability Access to Transportation Act recently re-introduced by Rep. Tillis.

But first there's the matter of guns.

RantWoman here offers:

--a Video of Joy Ann Reid excoriating Rep. Boebert for hyperbole and criminally bad timing of a fundraising appeal days after the mass shooting in Boulder, CO, not in her district but definitely in her state. RantWoman thinks it's classist and disrespectful of religious principles one does not have to agree with to always be banging on Rep. Boebert for getting a GED rather than finishing high school. RantWoman believes in lifelong learning. RantWoman also thinks Rep. Boebert's delivery could have benefited from some high school debate team experiences.

--A link for a video where the ads, one for a hip new Texas style NRA, and one right after for Sandy Hook Promise, the group of parents still understandably grieving years after the mass killing in Sandy Hook. Skip the rest of the video,

--A plea, PLEASE to miss me with your concern for my second amendment rights.

Honestly, RantWoman is sometimes willing to stick up for independent-minded women from western states, for example if they have experiences in common with other mothers in Congress.

The RantFamily was not really into hunting, even the part about responsible wildlife management. Most years someone knew people who brought us a package or two of frozen deer meat. But it is definitely unsporting to blast Bambi with an AR 15.

In WA legally blind people can get a concealed carry permit, a right RantWoman considers a really bad idea considering that she cannot see well enough to discipline her cat with a squirt gun.

A few years ago some friends of RantWoman looked at 5 years worth of data from the WA Department of Health about gun deaths. In almost every age group, gun suicides outnumbered homicides by 4-5 to one. The only exception was young adult men, mainly men of color by and large shooting at each other. Miss me with the right to any more of either of these death patterns.

Miss me too with all the mass murders committed with AR-15's, primarily by white guys. Miss me with the racism imbedded in the recent Atlanta shootings. Miss me with the whole situation in Boulder. Okay, that was not an AR 15 but a pistol model modified to enhance its killing power. Miss me with fundraising about this tragedy. Someone in my Bible study group is still front and center for all the community grieving.

I wish I thought your in-your-face flashing of firearms all over social media was because of concern for the public good but I don't I think you are winding up, whether you mean to or not shilling for death mongering arms manufacturers who try at every turn to avoid accountability for the harm they cause.

So how about just miss me with all the guns and get to work on a lot of other things your constituents also need.

Sincerely,

RantWoman

PS. Not only does RantWoman not relish the idea  of wild West style shootouts by armed grocery store patrons, RantWoman recalls the Capitol Hill rioters' touching fastidiousness about attention to Washington DC gun laws: many of these patriotic Second Amendment partisans left their firearms at home but came clad in heavy tactical gear and armed with tasers, poles, bear spray, and numerous other paths to lethality. So as long as you are rambling bogus statistics about fists, maybe the rioters should have kept their fists and the rest of themselves home on January 6.
