RantWoman comments:
Multiple commentators assume the lab where Darya Shipalova (Sp?) died is a fully functional Biosafety Level 3 lab. It's Russia. What if PPE supplies are inadequate? What if not every lab worker is vaccinated against the organisms they are working on? What is the supply of prophylactic antibiotics is inadequate.
RantWoman gets the reasons--low transmissibility, a fragile organism, the 6 ft or less distance for inhalable droplets to spread--that people are not too worried about standard plague. RantWoman just does not buy that everything is as one hopes it should be.
Multiple commentators also say that the level of quarantine is inconsistent with ordinary plague. What if Russia is actually, possibly after many lapses, doing something right about trying to contain problems?
